Supporting Your Grad (Episode 85)

On this week’s “You’ve Got This,” I talk with Janet McHenry about how what our college and high school graduates need from us. Janet is a national speaker and the author of 24 books, including the bestselling 50 Life Lessons for Graduates: Surprising Advice from Recent Graduates (Worthy). The mom of four college grads, she worked as an educator and counselor for more than two decades and created the blog, Senior Year 101. With her rancher husband Craig, she lives in the Sierra Valley in northern California.

“The life lessons actually came from young people who had graduated from college. They simply wanted to express that they’ve learned more than calculus, English or history—that they really learned something about life,” Janet said. “What they had learned about people, about themselves and about life really gave me confidence that this generation is going to do wonderful things in this world.”
